What is canyoning ?

The canyons in Rhône-Alpes offer the opportunities to swim in large natural pools (narrow corridors formed by vertical walls) and to walk in labyrinths.

In our canyons trips, the choice is vast (duration, difficulty, commitment ...), from Lyon, via Grenoble (Charteuse or Vercors ranges), above Annecy Lake (Tournette lountain or Bauges range).

The courses are diversidfied with abseiling down, into waterfalls or in their sprays, in the natural slides. With the security provided by the Guide, you could jump from rock steps or waterfalls to dive into some crystal clear water pools and it’s completely safe if you apply the Guide instructions.

Come to discover our Canyons courses for groups in the Vercors, Chartreuse, Belledonne ranges and around Annecy Lake.

This activity is open to all levels and to 8+ years old. Special rates offer for groups over 6, seminars, bachelor/rette parties.

Yes, we have several canyoning options available for individuals. You can sign up for scheduled outings by visiting the scheduled outings page. You can also contact us directly or send us your request.

What gear is provided?

At what age is it possible to start canyoning?

Most of the Canyons are adapted 8+ year old.

Are jumps mandatory?

No, there will always be a solution for everyone do another way: if no jump, so abseiling, water sliding or walking down beside the obstacle.

I set up a stag/hen party. What canyons are the best to do it?

I am organizing a seminar on corporate cohesion. Which canyons are best for doing this?

Many canyons are suitable and popular with corporate groups. For any special requests, just call or email, we can arrange peculiar accommodations.

What canyons are the best for a recreation Center?

For collective groups of 18- years old, call or mail us to organise the activity according to the current regulations.

Pregnancy and canyoning: Is it reasonable to do it pregnant?

We advise against going canyoning pregnant even at the beginning.

What time in the day is it best to go canyoning?

In the morning, in the full season, that’ where there are the conditions are the best.

Is it necessary to be a good swimmer for Canyoning?

Overall, you have to be comfortable with the water, but anyway the wetsuit makes you floating. And keep in mind that you won't be at the Olympics, just some short pools to swim through.

Is it a problem if some participants have experience and others don’t?

Every one is on the same boat and everyone rows at their own level... nJumping, walking down ar abseiling down. The whole group will finish the canyon or not at all! The key word: solidarity.

Quels sont les canyons accessible en transport en commun ?

A partir de Grenoble, les canyons du Furon partie basse à Sassenage et le canyon du Furon partie haute à Engins sont accessibles en transport en commun.

A partir d'Annecy, les canyons d'Angon et Angon Performance sont accessibles en bus depuis la gare d'Annecy. Pour les autres canyons, il est possible d'organiser du covoiturage avec les autres participants.

Une sortie canyoning au top!!! On a adoré cette eau translucide, ce cadre magique qui se succédais de petites cascades et des bassins plus beau les uns que les autres!!! Et ce passage sous le pont un vrai bonheur!!! Accompagner par Mathieu et Lucien, qui nous ont transmis leurs connaissances et leur goûts pour la nature et de l’aventure!!! Un grand merci c’était génial ☺️

Très belle sortie de canyoning dans le Furon ! Merci à Kévin qui a su nous donner confiance et nous challenger juste ce qu'il fallait. J'ai pu expérimenter le rappel en solo, une belle première. Mes quadri s'en rappellent encore 2 jours après, ça n'aide pas pour les randos 😝
